What a beautiful sight

Autumn colours

At the bottom of the drive the chestnut tree is now looking distinctly short on leaves compared to the thick green masses of only a few  weeks ago.  It’s interesting as we look out the window and see the colour changing as the day goes through.

In the morning the sun is behind them and they look pale as in this picture, but in the afternoon and in fact when the sky is overcast the yellows look more orange, and the organge turns a vivid red.
It’s amazing how captured you can be by the small daily changes in nature – and it’s spectacular silent show.
Meanwhile the bronnie burn flows on and I’m reminded of the quote “You can’t step in the same river twice, because the river has changed and so have you.”
Enjoy the season!
