Looking up in the early morning

Taking a rest!

This morning my attention was attrracted by one of the collar doves sitting on a tree at the back of the garden.  I was glad I paid attention – as I was treated to a fantastic aerial display by the swallows who were high above clearing intent on catching breakfast.  Their display was silent – at least from ground level, and I wondered how many mornings I had missed this display – right there to be seen.

It made me think about how much I could have missed if I hadn’t looked up, and how much I miss as I wander around the garden – usually more intent on spotting weeds and gardening jobs needing done!
So whatever you’re doing today, and wherever you happen to be reading this post… don’t forget to take some time to look up.  You never know what you may be missing!
