August Bank Holiday

Although the August Bank Holiday is not such a big deal in Scotland, the weather has been noticeably awful over the weekend.

To look outside you could have been forgiven for thinking it was October with the wind lashing the trees and the rain doing its best to wash the windows… and the dog when she was forced outside to do what dogs can only do outside!  And as to temperature, the weather forecasters would have said it was a little below the seasonal average!!

Instead of it being that last warm weekend of summer, it was the weekend when we looked at each other and said “It’s time to put the heating on”.

On a weekend like this I feel sorry for our guests in the Bothy… but immediately remind myself that it’s cosy with the heating on, add to that the log-burning stove, and the top rate electric blanket and duvets on the bed and I’m suddenly wishing I was having a week’s holiday in it myself!   Alas, it’s a working day for me – and there’s a little glimmer of light in the sky which hopefully will break through later.

Whatever you’re doing today – enjoy it and look for the glimmer of light in what you do.
