Geese on the move

The sound of winter

Going out early this morning you couldn’t miss the noise overhead as the Geese start to head south.  Last week, while on holiday in Portugal we were watching swallows and geese and wondering if they were the birds we normally watch in Pitmedden!!!

Well, the geese are on the move – the swallows we haven’t seen since we returned but they were still here at the start of October last year.  So I’m going to have a careful look for them at teatime which is a time we can often watch them feeding.
As the birds get ready to go south, our guests in the Bothy can still enjoy the heat from the log burning stove!! So if cosy lights your fire (!!) check out our availability for the winter months – no need to go South!
