Morning Sky at Pitmedden

Morning sky

At first look you might think this photograph was taken in the evening, but in fact it was taken on a Saturday morning at twenty past nine. I like the way the trees stand out in contrast to the morning light rising from the bottom of the picture.  It’s too early to decide if the clouds will win, or if they will part leaving a pale blue winter sky. It’s great to think that in a few weeks we will really notice the lengthening of the days – particular welcome this far north, and by summer we will be revelling in those long summer days when it’s light until very late.
