Light in the Darkness

Light in the darkness

I love this picture taken of some bright winter aconite with a dark background of dead and decomposing leaves.  The winter is behind (we hope) and the spring is round the corner.  This week has been seasonally warm and the plants and flowers are responding. This photo was taken just along the road from the Bothy on the banks of the Bronnie burn.  There is always something to look at on this little stretch of water from Snowdrops to the Heron that has breakfast there frequently.  As well as the permanent residents, there are those which come and go. The collared doves have returned – I hadn’t realised they were seasonal but they’ve definitnely been wintering somewhere else! So here’s to many more little plants delighting us in the weeks ahead as we move into spring and look forward to longer, warmer days.
