You could be forgiven for thinking this photo is upside down. But actually this is the reflection in the lake at Crathes Castle woods today. It was picture perfect and so still – not a ripple on the water.
Crathes is about 45 minutes from the Bothy. After a frosty start to the morning we took Scamp, the boots, and left to go and have a long walk in the woods around the castle. What a stunning day! Blue sky as you can see, amazing autumn colours and finished it off with coffee and fantastic Gluten Free cake at the visitor centre.
What’s amazing is that it’s now into November and there are still so many green leaves on the trees!! Although the autumn colours are still amazing. So after a long walk it was a couple of miles into Banchory to buy lunch and enjoy more of this great sunny day… good to be alive, and able to be out enjoying the outdoors.
