Enjoying a quiet breakfast

007Quite often I see this heron at the bottom of the drive eating fresh breakfast from the Bronnie Burn.  This was taken last week but unfortunately I had only my iphone.

Usually I see it when I’m out early in the morning with Scamp and of course I’m sure the heron is rather undisposed towards dogs.  Perhaps one morning I’ll go out early with nothing but my camera and tripod and see if I can sneak up for a better pose.  Although with the lighter mornings definitely coming, I should maybe make the effort soon as I’m sure as the days get longer it will be having earlier breakfast.

I’ve been seeing this solitary bird (unless it has a partner look alike!) for the five years we’ve lived here. I wonder how long it was here before us!
