Forvie Beach and Nature Reserve

Forvie Beach

This weekend sees the arrival of British Summer Time and we are looking forward to getting out and enjoying the longer nights that this brings. We have some beautiful beaches round about – this is a picture that was taken at Forvie Beach, which is on the way out to Cruden.

The Nature Reserve at Forvie is on the Ythan Estuary and is about 16 miles north of Aberdeen. I am planning on heading there this weekend with my camera!  Spring is quite busy here – the terns arrive, many thousands of eider ducks are making their nests and the cliffs have spring flowering primroses, cowslips and butterwort. Great for taking pictures with my new camera!

Hopefully we will have some of the lovely sunshine that we had during the week. Albeit in between the heavy rain showers and early morning frost!

So my walking boots will be out and if the weather is nice, we may even get a picnic outside in the sun!
