Stonehaven Harbour

img_0641-1Still in Stonehaven, this is a picture of the harbour.  The harbour dates back to before 1607 and has been destroyed by storms and repaired several times since then.  In 1825, Robert Stevenson put together a new plan and the Harbour works were successfully completed.

Nowadays, it is mainly a recreational harbour however, several fishing boats still do use it.

We love visiting Stonehaven and on the day we visited, we grabbed a sandwich and a drink and sat on the bench and enjoyed watching what was going on and enjoying the sunshine!

If you are near Stonehaven then I would certainly recommend a visit!
