Hazlehead Park

This week, we are visiting Hazlehead Park for our tour of Aberdeen’s Parks and Gardens.  Hazlehead is much larger than Johnston Gardens, where our blog featured last week.  It covers a total of 180 hectares and has 2 golf courses, football pitches, pitch and putt, aswell as a horse riding school.

The day we visited, it was quite wet but it didn’t stop us going for a wander and managing to get lost in Scotland’s oldest maze!!  The maze was first planted in 1935 and it was great fun trying to work out where the way out was!!

After we had a wee look around and a wander through the North Sea Memorial Rose Garden to the Piper Alpha Memorial, we headed back to the Park Cafe for a lovely hot drink and a fantastic scone and jam.  A lovely park to visit and lots of lovely things to admire.
