Collieston

This picture was taken by my son when he visited Collieston and it is just one of my favourite pictures!  We regularly visit as it is only just over 12 miles from the Bothy.  The village lies just north of the Sands of Forvie Special Protection Area, between Cruden Bay and Newburgh.  To the north, it has rocky bays and steep cliffs, whereas to the south, there is a huge sand dune which stretches for 3 miles along the shore to the mouth of the River Ythan near Newburgh.

As the clocks go forward this weekend, it will be great to be able to enjoy more of the lighter nights and hopefully, some warmer temperatures!  It is nice to be able to get out for a walk in the evening, especially when we have so many wonderful beaches on our doorstep.

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are planning and remember the clocks go back!
