Hope that everyone had a lovely Easter and managed to enjoy some nice weather! This week, we are visiting Aberdeen Beach and this is so handy for us when we are in town as we drive past it to get home! With lots of parking, it is great to stop at and get out and enjoy a walk along. The lovely golden sandy beach curves right round between the harbour and the mouth of the River Don.
The beach won the Resort Seaside Award in 2013 and is an ideal place for visitors to enjoy a stroll along as it is located just a short distance from the City Centre. A lovely place to start from is Fittie (Footdee), which is an old fishing village at the east end of the harbour. You can walk right along the beach – if the tide is in then you can walk on the promenade and take in the views and see what wildlife you can spot. There are designated swimming areas as well as dog free zones and it is popular for bikes and joggers so something for everyone.
There are cafes along the front where you can get a hot drink or an ice-cream – depending on the weather and what you prefer!!
