Aberdeen Christmas Tree Switch on

If you are around Aberdeen later on tonight then why not head along to the Castlegate to see the Christmas Tree Switch on at 7.00pm.  The tree has been kindly donated from Aberdeens twin town Stavanger in Norway.  There will be a short carol service with civic guests from Aberdeen and Norway which will take place before the lights are switched on.  There will also be entertainment from Tutti Voices (Aberdeen Performing Arts), who are part of the APA Creative Learning Programme, and Gospelkoret Abraham a choir group from Stavanger.

And today also sees the opening of the Christmas Village.  Open now until the 31st December, there is certainly plenty of time to head along and visit this.

So why not head along and see the lights being switched on the tree tonight ahead of the Christmas Light switch on which is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
